Presenteeism at Work

Transkrypcja

Presenteeism is when employees go to work even when they are sick, tired, or not able to perform their tasks well. It is the opposite of absenteeism, where people miss work without a good reason.
Presenteeism is becoming a bigger problem in many companies. Some employees feel pressure to come to work even when they are unwell because they fear losing their job or falling behind. However, this can have negative effects not only on the employee’s health but also on the company.
When people come to work sick, they are less productive and can spread illness to others. This can lead to more employees getting sick and an overall decrease in work performance. Additionally, presenteeism can lead to burnout, as employees do not take the time to recover and rest.
Companies are starting to recognize the problem and encourage employees to stay home when they are not feeling well. Some businesses offer flexible work options or paid sick days to help reduce presenteeism.
While it’s important to be dedicated to your job, working when you’re sick can sometimes cause more harm than good.
